How could room at Brooklyn Tech be filled when fee waivers weren't distributed yet?

Because the people who take the SAT at Brooklyn Tech don't actually go to Tech, but live in the neighborhood and go to those neighboring zoned schools like Grady or Science Skills

Although that home-field advantage you get when you take the test at Tech is nice, I think it's always better to take the test close to home, since you don't have to leave as early and don't have to rely so heavily on Saturday train/bus service.

Some people were able to get fee waivers before school ended in june, and some people (like me) paid for the exams.

I agree with blackmanor1000, but I chose tech because i was familiar with where everything is located. Trains/buses are always messed up during the weekends, so if you have another school close to you, it might be a better idea to take it there.

When I was taking the SAT exams, I didn't even know that I had a the option of getting a fee waiver for the SAT I! (Turns out that I would've qualified too)

Where you end up taking the exam really boils down to personally preferences. Which of these are higher up in the priority for you? (1) Home-field advantage? (2) Proximity to your house? (3) Comfortable room temperature? (a major factor during the winter and the summer!)

As for me, I'd avoid taking tests at Tech during the Summer. I put a higher priority to an air conditioned school than sweating it out in a (usually) dank Tech room especially when I'm dealing with a high-stakes exam.

Hunter College 2011 ▶ Biochemistry (BA) | Adolescent Education (MA)

I went to Madison for my first SAT exam and flunked it. It was within walking distance from my house - literally 6 blocks away. I was so preoccupied with their essays on the classroom bulletin boards picking out every single grammar mistake than actually doing the exam questions. I then took my next one at Tech and thats the score I took. Let's just say there was at least a 400 point difference lol. There are perks to taking it in an environment you're used to.

Or in an environment that sucks less. feels like home sweet home.

Pun intended.
