umm... I passed the summer shsat and got accepted into tech on the first day.Everyone already has a prefect and stuff, but I don't yet. I also don't have a guidance counselor. I feel so lost (not the finding the rooms part). I have many questions, sadly. Please help me if you can.
1) What is Daedalus?
2) How can I get all those accounts (bths email, Daedalus, Moodle, Skedula)? I'm not registered into those yet, so when I enter my username and password, it doesn't work.
3) When do you go in the locker rooms? Like, after the late bell?
4) Can I ask for an elevator pass if I have a basement class, then right after is gym8 (nine floors, really.)
5) I am interested in joining the string orchestra. Who do I ask? When is it going to take place? Is there an audition?

I am so sorry for asking too many questions, but thank you in advance if you can answer them. :turned:

1) Daedalus is the site tech uses to give information about classes, attendance, grades, etc.

2) Your id is :firstinitial, lastname, last 4 digits of OSIS #. Your password is your entire OSIS #. (For daedalus that is.)

3) All teachers have different policies about the lockers in their room. However, most agree that the time to go to your locker is in between passing so you don't disturb a class.

4) You won't get one, however you can talk with your gym teacher about letting you come slightly later as I had the same thing and it's simply unreasonable to be expected to go that far in 4 minutes.

5) I believe the teacher that conducts orchestra is Mr. Fisher. Don't know much else about it.

1) What is Daedalus?
It's a program used by Tech to keep track of your various classes, grades, etc.

2) How can I get all those accounts (bths email, Daedalus, Moodle, Skedula)? I'm not registered into those yet, so when I enter my username and password, it doesn't work.
Talk to Michael Edwards.
http://bths.edu/apps...ID=32361&type=u

3) When do you go in the locker rooms? Like, after the late bell?
You enter at the beginning bell. The gym teachers direct the flow, so don't worry about it.

4) Can I ask for an elevator pass if I have a basement class, then right after is gym8 (nine floors, really.)
No, sorry.

The programming office is working on giving students like you prefects and counselors. i'm not sure when you will be receiving this information. If you are in that great of a need to know I suggest you visit the programming office (any time from 7:45 to 3:30 in 1W12).

1) What is Daedalus?
Daedalus is a system that our schools uses that allows you to see your report card, transcript, days with absences and cuts, schedule, and sign up for courses next year. You'll see when you get an account [look at next question].

2) How can I get all those accounts (bths email, Daedalus, Moodle, Skedula)? I'm not registered into those yet, so when I enter my username and password, it doesn't work.
You will probably be given all the information in the near future (tech doesn't really get everything done first few days of school). No one has a skedula account yet. As for Daedalus, BTHS email, and Moodle, your username will most likey be your fist initial, last name, last 4 digits of your OSIS and password will most likely be your OSIS (moodle might be different). Naviance you will have to use an email. As I said before, you will get all the information from someone, and since you're a freshman this will most likely happen during your technology class. You'll just have to wait.

3) When do you go in the locker rooms? Like, after the late bell?
Everyone is supposed to start changing this Tuesday the 13th. You should purchase the combo-set (t-shirt, shorts, and a lock). That should be around $30. You must arrive to the locker rooms (south of the 3rd floor) BEFORE the late bell rings. Depending on how late you are (a few seconds, the teacher might still let you in), you can be locked out and will have to suffer the consequences of being unprepared (negative mark).

If you are talking about regular lockers, you can get a locker where-ever you want. Different teachers have different policies. It is suggested that you find a room that is accessible to you. Also you should not disturb a class in session (make it to the room, and leave before the late bell rings, and class starts). Some teachers leave immediately and lock their doors, you will not be able to enter that room if it is locked. Make sure that it is open when you need to use your locker.

4) Can I ask for an elevator pass if I have a basement class, then right after is gym8 (nine floors, really.)
Unless you have a valid medical excuse you will not be able to obtain an elevator pass. Elevator passes are given out in the basement (i do not know the exact room).

5) I am interested in joining the string orchestra. Who do I ask? When is it going to take place? Is there an audition?
There is not audition. There are two things you can do. One is talk to our guidance counselor (which you don't have yet, so that can be an issuer). The other thing is to talk to the teachers. Orchestra is taught by Ms. Lapierre. The orchestra room is on the 9th floor west side (well actually, 9 1/2 floors. you walk up from the 8th floor on the west side, walk a bit towards the center of the 9th floor, and you will see another stair case). Band is taught by Mr. Fischer. His room is located on the 8th floor west side. There are several periods for orchestra and band. Each period represents a different level.

Ohh okay. Well thanks guys (:

@CIEMeNt: I already sent him an email, but it was from my gmail account. I don't think he'll reply since it's not from a bths email, which I don't have.
I'll see if sending it from the link you sent me works.

@xiaolu: So for the people with gym8, they will have to go in the 3rd floor gym locker rooms right? if yes, I only need to go up 4 floors then :D
Oh, and for the orchestra thingy, when do I go to their offices?
(Sorry if I'm annoying you with orchestra stuff. It's because I was in my middle school orchestra in Gerogia, but then I moved, so my mom wants me to continue it in high school.)

usually gym8 people change in the 8th floor locker room, and then use the gym on the 8th floor. if your phys ed teacher did not clarify this to your class, you should contact him/her.

i am unsure of the orchestra schedule, and since they are cutting BTHS email accounts for teachers, it is harder to contact them by email. you can try visiting the orchestra room before 1st period, during your lunch period, or whenever you are free. going up the from 8th floor, onto the 9th floor, and through the middle staircase on the 9th floor, you will see 2 rooms. one is the orchestra room and the other is an office/"hang out" room. ms. lapierre will be in one of those two rooms. if you do not see her there, you can go to the band room and ask mr. fischer when she is in her room/available/ways to contact her. mr. fischer has class 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and either 1st or 9th (unsure). it is hectic in the band room, you will have to walk in, find your way through the 50 people in there, and approach mr. fischer. do not wait to be noticed.

Gee, so I will really have to go up 9 floors. It's like exercise before you even have gym, but oh well.
But thanks a lot for the orchestra info (:

if you are coming from the basement, and you seldom make it to the 9th floor before the bell rings, i suggest you talk to your teacher about this. he/she might be more lenient on you. some teachers take lateness quite seriously. don't be afraid to tell your teacher about some of the difficulties that you are having.

here's an advice that might be too much for freshman to take: if someone does go wrong (teacher ignores your request for a minute more for changing and fails you), you can go directly to the AP (Ms. Ohara) and complain. Students always have the option of reporting and complaining, just don't abuse it. Btw, if a teacher is joking and say "i'm going to fail you for being 1 second late" don't report them. be careful with this privilege.

Well, it's more of a warm up, especially if you get one of the tougher teachers :)
Also, to clarify info about the accounts;
I belive it is DDP teachers that help you activate your moodle account.
Skedula is new to everyone in the school, including teachers so it will take a while until students receive info about that.
Also, since your an out of state new student who hasn't recieved a schedule(I'm assuming this is what you mean by "stuff" since you don't know your counselor, prefect which btw you have class with) yet, I hope you know where to go in the morning! I think it will be safe to say you should get to school by first period (8:00).
Anyway, if you get the chance to read this before tomorrow, good luck!

Haha, I already started school on the first day of school. I'm still trying to get on my class's rosters though. It's always the scene where the teacher is like "Did I already call everyone?" and then I'm always raising my hand :D but I don't mind it.
Btw I have Mr. Kono as my gym teacher. And when you said that I have prefect with my class, which class do you mean? Thanks3

You should have DDP class with the same people from your Prefect.
And if the cluster system is still in effect, you should have 2-3 classes at least with about the same group of people. It was designed so freshmen and get to know each other better.
