I know... I know...

This topic has came up a lot, and I'm sure you're all sick of hearing it, sorry

But there's about a month.5 left, and I need some information. I've been studying for 2 months now for the 9th grade SHSAT on account to my 8th grade SHSAT failure - I got somewhere in the 430's. Now I've been studying Integrated Algebra, and that's about it. There are probably more things. Can you guys tell me:

1.) What is the SINGLE most important thing to know about the 9th grade SHSAT
2.) How much harder is it, than the 8th grade SHSAT version?
3.) Is it possible for a person to pass the 9th grade SHSAT without any prep classes?
4.) What would you prefer for me to study this month and a half?

and finally,

what are the aprox. cutoffs for Stuy, Bxsci, and Tech regarding the 9th grade SHSAT?

I have a few minutes before I leave for school so I guess I'll help you (:
*note: the answer I provide may be different for each person. I did not take the 9th grade shsat but my brother did so all these answers are coming from him.

1.) What is the SINGLE most important thing to know about the 9th grade SHSAT
Know your math Algebra + Geometry + basic Trig. English was not that hard but remember your sequence words for the scramble paragraph (first,finally,then,next)

2.) How much harder is it, than the 8th grade SHSAT version?
The English was not as bad as the math. But the math on the 9th grade is definitely harder.

3.) Is it possible for a person to pass the 9th grade SHSAT without any prep classes?
Its very possible. I went to prep classes and just barely made it in. My friends that didn't go made it into stuy with a 592!

4.) What would you prefer for me to study this month and a half?
It is up to you. What do you feel you need to work on? Maybe you are still a little rusty on your math or maybe you want to review your comprehension skills.

Cutoff I think are the same.. Tech is in the 490s and Stuy is in the 560s. (The scores might be different now)

Actually, I believe the cutoff scores are a lot higher. Remember that they are accepting far less people. As of the sections, the English is the same stuff and the Math may be a bit harder.

What would basic trig be besides SOHCAHTOA?

Lol, I took the 9th grade SHSAT two years ago, but I hardly remember most of the new stuff. I believe there might be basic algebra II on the test like functions. Like (f o g)(x)?
