q1: Do guidance couselors ever respond to emails or phone calls? What's the point of emailing them if they never respond???

q2: Does freshman take PSAT? Teacher just handed out booklet and said that PSAT is in Oct. HUH?

1.) They do. Remember that they're busy with other students and they may have other emails too. Check with them during your lunch period and notify her about the email and then settle the issue during lunch.

2.) PSAT = Practice SAT. I believe everyone takes it in October, correct me if I'm wrong.

Freshmen do not take the PSAT, sophomores and juniors however do. But it is only the grade you get in junior year that counts.

Thanks. I will look for guidance during lunch. Are they also available before 1st period and after 9th? These are the only times students are free.

Phew! Thought I have to take PSAT. How come teachers are not more specific? They don't know?

I don't think guidance counselors are here before 1st, and they leave after 9th.

Does anyone know for sure that freshmen are taking PSAT this yr? Is it posted anywhere on the bths website? Is it for free as a practice run?

Freshmen are definitely taking PSAT this year; it was announced at last Saturday's Freshman Parent Orientation. It is free and will be used as a diagnostic.

Guidance counselors usually have their own schedule posted on their door so can check to see when they'll be in the office. also, you have to understand that they have to deal with hundreds of kids and emails, it'll take time to get through them all.
Sorry, about the wrong PSAT info. Anyway don't worry about it too much.

Thanks for all your responses.

I was just so frustrated with the program change cos I am sent from one person to another and still hanging in the air. Hopefully it can be resolved today.
