For anything you write on looseleaf (homework), is there a specific heading for it? I just put my name and the date in the top right hand corner, but I see people writing stuff in the left hand corner. I'm confused...
Paper headings?

Depends on your teacher.
A model example of headings should be somewhere in your student planner.

From my personal experience, it mostly goes like
Your Name--------------------------Date
Couse Code/Teacher-------------Period number/Assignment #

If your teacher does not specifically tell you a heading format (I don't in the classes I'm teaching at City Polytechnic H.S.), then keep it simple but descriptive enough.
I personally used this 4-line format at the upper right hand corner of the paper:
(1) Name, (2) Date, (3) Class period, (4) Assignment number + Brief description.
