Im curious and also in need of advice, what the minimum # of clubs you need to join for like a good college? Also what the required GPA? in addition is adding band class to (let say 1st period) your schedule, a good idea?

Join enough Clubs to get enough credits to graduate. Don't join too many, join the ones that interest you. Not sure if colleges check what kind of Clubs you join,
but as for now just join what you want. The required GPA for a good college depends on the college you're trying to go to. Add band class to your first period
in your schedule if you can handle it. By your interests it seems you play guitar and listen to music, and by that I can assume you can handle it.
Have fun in Tech.

Depends on what kind of college you're planning to attend... and if you're going to say Harvard, I will shake that nonsense out of you. If I ever find you.

I like you, kid. xD
But anyways, the definition of a "good" college is totally subjective. It depends mainly on your interests, your financial needs and the locations you're willing to travel to. For example, a good college for me would be Cooper Union. Why? Because it's famous for its Fine Arts program, offers full tuition to whoever gets accepted and is located in the city (I want to stay close to home). To me, a bad college would be MIT because it's not really known for its arts courses, is a little too expensive and too far for my tastes.
As far as clubs go, colleges WILL take a look into your extracurricular activities to get a sense of what you are like as a person. If you've been in, say, the Football team for 4 years then it should be pretty obvious that you like football, and colleges with good football teams will try to seek you out. If you've been captain of a team or president of a club, then that's also something that should be taken into consideration and could be put on your resume.
When it comes to GPA, it varies. It's true that certain schools such as Ivy Leagues look for the top 5%, but there's always a chance that a person with ordinary scores could get into Harvard or Yale if they've written amazing college essays or participated in some extraordinary event. I know a person who got into Columbia University with a low 90 average and a very mediocre SAT score because he won an international robotics competition -- but that's a rare case. Most other schools would accept you so long as your average is above 70 something.
Overall, you just need to make yourself stand out -- get colleges to know what's special about you. The whole application process is not about getting into a college that's "good" or not, it's about going to a college that you know will make you happy.

theres no way this is a serious thread. its such a ridiculous, presumptuous question. tell me, whats a good college?
if you're asking if a college will care if you took a band class? absolutely not. they dont give a flying #%$^. your gpa can be as low a 65 and as high as 100 to get into a good college depending on what a good college.
bro, i know you're a freshman, but really now. youre better than this.
--my first post since i was a junior in high school. good times...
