I just signed up for ping pong club today without realizing that I had classes during the days they meet. How do I drop the club...?

E-mail or tell the president that you are unable to join the club. If you can't find the time to do that, then just don't go altogether -- I'm sure most clubs will get the message. Mine does. :P

Does anything go on your records?

Clubs do not go on your transcript or any other official school document. I'm not sure of the exact process of how they record credits Ito your sgo card but does not affect your student resume in any way.
It's not like colleges are going to know that you signed up for a club and didn't even go to it.

But in interviews, they most LIKELY want to know what your interests are and what extracurricular you did for the 4 years in high school.
A student without a balanced profile is trashy. There's nothing interesting about them and there's no potential if they don't have imagination or inspirations. Why take in someone who won't produce results for society?

Yes but you don't need to say "I joined this club I was interested in but had to drop out of it"
