I asked around about joining clubs, and I was told I should just show up at the meeting of whatever club I wanted to join.
So I decided that the Math Magazine club sounded interesting, and today, I went to room 3W9 at the start of 10th period. I waited around twenty minutes, and nobody showed up.
What did I do wrong? How am I actually supposed to join a club?

You did everything wrong.
You're supposed to wait for the day they meet.

Well first make sure that is when the meet. If it's not, then find out when and where they do meet and go there.
If it is when they meet and you're sure that it's the day, it might be a club that meets bi-weekly or monthly.

To join a club, you just show up and talk with whichever students are in charge or their advisor.

Things are kinda weird this year since the club fair isn't being hosted until late october/early november so clubs dont have contact info from interested students.

Also if you check the school website (http://www.bths.edu/...=clu&rn=4146638) that's a list of advisors and you can try to get in direct contact with the advisor and ask when and how to join the club

Oh. I read a flyer saying that they met last Monday, and I guessed that they meet weekly. I might end up just waiting until the club fair.

Clubs haven't even all been approved yet. Clubs have to be restarted every year and there's no guarantee that they'll meet on the same day so the best thing you can do is listen to the announcements and watch for posters in the hallways.

Fliers are also delayed since they have to be approved individually, but it shouldn't take too long for them to be up.
