i know the marking period is about to end and i'm a little confused on how the grades would show up. at the beginning of the school year, the teachers said that they could either give you a grade that's like 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, etc. so they just round your grade to whichever one is nearer? or is it just that exact grade like let's say 87, 93, 97, etc. ?

For any grade below a 90, you can only get an number divisible by 5. (ex: 65, 70, 85, 90 etc) But between 90-100 you can get any number (ex:92, 94, 95,97, etc)

Teachers keep their grade books exact, so let's say you have an 84, it would go up to an 85 or down to an 80. (You might get unlucky with a teacher that rounds down, but almost every teacher I know rounds up. Few round down.)

Instructors for the most part round up! If you have an 82.5 it will be an 85 unless you're the kind of student that shows up late, sleeps in class, etc...then the instructor will have the right to round you down for that marking period. In addition, even if you were rounded down to a 80, your actual grade in the class is still an 82.5. With that said, when it comes time to do cumulative averages for the next marking period, the 82.5 is factored as opposed to the 80 which shows up on your report card. Keep yourself in the loop and note that down so there are no conflicts when another marking period ends and report cards come out - teachers have a little less than 200 students, some numbers are bound to get jumbled up.

If less than 90 then yes.
The only "true" grade is the 1st MP grade since the rest are cumulative. So don't screw up 1st MP.
