MP1 = MP1
MP2 = (MP1 + MP2) / 2
MP3 = (MP1 + MP2 + MP3) / 3
MP2 = (MP1 + MP2) / 2
MP3 = (MP1 + MP2 + MP3) / 3

I was hoping that MP1 and MP2 counted slightly less than MP3. Oh well, thanks a lot :D

Not accurate at all in terms of the definition of cumulative. The answer is that the report card grade issued counts everything from the first day of the term until the end of the current MP. The average formula provided above only works if the number of tests, quizzes, homework, etc are uniformly distributed. Report card grades count everything and should be considered the grade in the class if the course ended that day.
MP1 = Sept - Mid Oct
MP 2 = Sept - End Nov
MP 3 = Sept - End Jan
MP1 = Sept - Mid Oct
MP 2 = Sept - End Nov
MP 3 = Sept - End Jan
