My Dell Inspiron 2650 was running OK, no problems, no adware or spyware. I leave my computer on for 30 mins, and all of a sudden I get a blue screen crash, however this has a twists!!! It was a physical memory dump, and it had a timer counting up, wow!!!! Then can you geuss what happens next? I have to reboot my computer, then Windows doesn't load! I'm pissed and take my Windows setup CD and try reinstalling Windows, only thing is that there are no partitions on my hard drive! The I said to myself "WTF!" I tried creating a new partition but NOTHING was happening!! Then I decide why not break my screen (even more, well it was broke already that's why I got a new laptop, but everything else was ok). After I completely messed up my screen, I'll give you guys a screen shot later on, I noticed something perculiar, my hard drive was corrupt!!!! Then I tought to myself, "Why not sue Microsoft?", the blue screen crash is suppose to save your hardware from being destroyed, I mean that's what it says. I tried going into BIOS and disabling and renabling the hard drive, and I put a pass on the HDD. When I rebooted my computer it prompted me for a pass for my hard drive, I type that same exact password in 6 times, and it didn't work! Then I thought to myself "Bye Bye computer!" I shook the !@#$ out of the computer, knee kicked it, and I tap danced on the screen! Then I thought to myself "I will bomb Microsoft and make Bill Gates suck my ****, and create a jihad against Micro^&(#!!" As of today, I am reformatting all of my computers and installing Linux Red Hat!! Well actually no, but you can understand how pissed off I am. The computer is still operational, except it need a new screen and probably a new hard drive.
My plan of attack for Bombing Microsoft is to use high quality software!
A second later Bill Gates replies, "The is no emoticon for what I am feeling!"

thats a lot of anger venting there...

I think that you had a one case where you might have had a corrupt hard drive from a file other than windows; thats what usually happens. You may have even had a :gasp: virus! Things like this happen. Next time, if (which it doesn't look like so) you reinstall windows, get Norton Systemworks with GoBack, which can reset your hard drive to any point in time (it refreshes itself about every hour)

Mcafee Antivirus is not nearly as good as Norton... remember if you download something and it crashes before the virus checker can pick it up, you are screwed

mcafee checks everything before it runs, i didn't have a virus, or anything, they can't possibly create a physical dump

I had a similar problem on one of my old desktops. The blue physical memory dump screen would appear and the computer would just freeze up. I later found out that my hard drive was corrupt. I switched it. Still didn't help. That desktop is now a paperweight, a really big one.

Sue on what grounds?

Read that long, long, long service agreement you hit "I accept these terms..." and "Next" within 2 seconds when you were installing Windows.
But today you just read that the man was shot dead

Then I'll sue my 3rd grade teacher for being mean to me. Or bomb her, whatever. [NOTE to all DOE people scared !@#$less (for lack of a better, curse word) that someone is gonna go Columbine and etc.: I did NOT mean that.]

I really just don't think an operating system just farts like that. If so, then wouldn't all of us be having this problem? You are somehow involved in the crash of your computer.

true, so i made a few guidelines for people using windows

Do not load more than 0 programs at a time.
Do not press more than 1 button per minute.
Do not touch mouse.
Do not touch keyboard.
Do not touch computer.
Do not touch screen.
Do not touch power cord.
Do not touch speakers.
Do not touch any cords hocked into your computer.
Do not look at computer.
Do not talk about your computer.
Do not think about your computer.
Do not go near your computer.
Do not ever touch the POWER BUTTON.
Do not touch Windows' CD.
Failure to comply will result in an automatic crash of your system, hard drive, BIOS, motherboard, network, ISP, power, and TV. You've been warned!

One question how can a computer that just got a brand new ****ing copy of windows XP on a reformated hdd be corrupt already, the HDD is ok, this is my other P4 3.06 GHz computer. If windows ****s with this computer too..... bombs away! I'll DOS windows' shopping carts, online!

well that's what you'd think. If you leave your computer on overnight lets say, not change any settings, it supposed to be the same in the morning, your not supposed to have the "blue screen of death". So obviously it was a problem in the OS, it could just wake up and decide not to work, i know funny, but that's MS. Who here bothered reading that license agrrement?I know i didnt

Fine print on the User-Agreement!
Windows has the right to crash spontaneously whenever it pleases. It also has the right to destroy your hardware.

Win XP source code:
#include stdio.h

#include conio.h

#include time.h

#include !@#$header.h

int user;

int last crash;

int main () {

while (user == happy) {

blue screen();

-- happy;

checktime();

}

int checktime() {

get(time);

int crashtime;

crashtime = time -  last crash;

if (crashtime > 1 min) {

do(blue screen);

}

int blue screen() {

if (user == happy) {

do(blue screen crash;

}elsif (user == sad) {

do(hardware crash);

}

}
