true, so i made a few guidelines for people using windows

Do not load more than 0 programs at a time.
Do not press more than 1 button per minute.
Do not touch mouse.
Do not touch keyboard.
Do not touch computer.
Do not touch screen.
Do not touch power cord.
Do not touch speakers.
Do not touch any cords hocked into your computer.
Do not look at computer.
Do not talk about your computer.
Do not think about your computer.
Do not go near your computer.
Do not ever touch the POWER BUTTON.
Do not touch Windows' CD.
Failure to comply will result in an automatic crash of your system, hard drive, BIOS, motherboard, network, ISP, power, and TV. You've been warned!

Do not use contractions.

Do not go on a blind-anger based rant yelling at Windows and saying that all you did was use the computer regulary...aren't you the one who was talking about the Gamers-Hackers club?

You did SOMETHING, or a series of things that caused it to crash.

If you didn't, that would mean that the precendent to Windows is to just crash, which isn't true, i.e. my computer, and MANY others.

I don't care if it's given people hard times (which IS their fault also), without them this ENTIRE digital era would be very different and comparably primitive. Are you saying Microsoft hasn't done you any good in your life? Give me a break.

If you want to go to Unix -- fine, but let's stop yelling about Microsoft already!

Even if he was to change some settings its not supposed to keep crashing like that. Maybe once

He could have changed more than settings, whatever.

But my point being that if it was entirely Windows' fault, then all of our computers would crash no matter what is still valid.

my windows is moded thru and thru, it overclocks the dren out of my processor, it doesn't go into standby, it doesn't dump dren to my hhd (or it wasn't suppose to), i've made solitare my default web browser (yes i have spyware on solitate, nothing contagious thou, i can delete it by simply deleting solitare and putting a fresh copy back on), i've also made my RAM dump onto my NIC so i can see my physica & virtual memory from another computer, perfect for hacking any program!

these mods are perfect nothing has been horibbly mutalated; none of these mods change the main process behind windows

Not necessarily a change, but a screwup in one of the mod softwares that you think is Windows.

Let me put it this way, I've never moded Windows, and I've never had a crash, and it is usually people who do or install Windows that have crashes.

This is the most important part of your post. Your windows installation overclocks your processor? That's pretty bad - any overclock reduces the life of the hardware that is being overclocked. It's not something you can deny, it's just the truth.
I think your modifications caused your problems. Don't let spyware stay on your comp. Where there's spyware (real spyware, not "tracking cookies"), there's bound to be viruses sooner or later.

I agree. The only crashes I have had were my fault (installing an AV while forgetting to uninstall the other). This is Win XP, though. Win ME is another story.

i never overclock anything over 400% of what it was meant to be. I'm a reasonable guy. My favorite mod is Carmen Electra on my Windows loading screen 8) overclocking does have any negative affects besides the one of two crashes it may encounter when it has too much to handle

Listen man, when I come close to using 70% of my processor at a steady rate, I run RamIdle LE to free up space in both that and the RAM.

Although you may think that it's ok that you're only doing 400%, it's NOT.

ANY mod done to you computer put you at risk for a crash. I don't want to have to reiterate that again! Can someone like, lock this thread? All this Windows-bashing/mod-defending is getting me powerful annoyed.

why don't you just edit the httpd.conf and type in
<Directory "usrlocalbinapachehttdocs">
Deny From All
</Directory>
 then everything will be locked!
btw mods are what make computers amazing, the fact that you can change something to your liking makes it amazing

lol... All you had to do is right click on "My Computer", then select Properties. Select the Advanced tab and click on Settings (under Startup and Recovery). You can see all the settings there.
