National Society of High school scholars?

So basically, i received this weird letter from the "National Society of High School Scholars" inviting me into their society and talking about how helpful it would be towards college. They're asking for a $70 membership fee. So my question is, is this legitimate or just a scam? And did anyone else get invited to this?

Hey, i was looking at last year's major selection and it said the cut off for LAS was 338.
I did the math for my PI, and it was about 347. How are my chances to get in this year?

I have some questions about AP Euro, like how far into European history does the course go into?
Does anyone know the name of the teacher(s) that teach it (out of curiosity)?
And honestly how hard is the class and AP test?
