But in interviews, they most LIKELY want to know what your interests are and what extracurricular you did for the 4 years in high school.
A student without a balanced profile is trashy. There's nothing interesting about them and there's no potential if they don't have imagination or inspirations. Why take in someone who won't produce results for society?

Yes but you don't need to say "I joined this club I was interested in but had to drop out of it"

I explained the same thing many times as I operated the elevator. xD

You probably remember me as I was yelling as the floors went by with the train lingo: "THIS IS THE SECOND FLOOR. SECOND FLOOR. SECOND FLOOR. NEXT STOP, THIRD FLOOR, THIRD FLOOR." :P

LOL. That must have been fun. Too bad I could hear it, I was stuck in the gym for 75% of the weekend. It's amazing how many stink eyes other highschools give you when you walk by in a tech shirt in your own school when all I was doing was "floating".

America's factories, as well as its ability to manufacture consumer goods en masse, moved overseas decades ago.

America has moved on from being an industrial economy to a post industrial economy, focusing on services (ie. education- we have many foreign students in our universities) as opposed to goods. Though we receive many of our products from other countries, some of the factories are owned by American companies.

but would they still give you the class when you aready know how to swim?

Yes. Swim gym teachers will mostly focus on teacher you how to swim(floating, breathing, the basics) and experienced swimmers will most likely be assigned to do laps.
It's not like tech has ever required info about your swimming skills in order to schedule you into swim gym or else that will just make scheduling even more problematic.
Anyway, swim gym almost always tend to be a mix of people.

Does anything go on your records?

Clubs do not go on your transcript or any other official school document. I'm not sure of the exact process of how they record credits Ito your sgo card but does not affect your student resume in any way.
It's not like colleges are going to know that you signed up for a club and didn't even go to it.
